EDM number 658 in 1991-92, proposed by Ronnie Fearn on 12/02/1992.

That this House notes that in the first three quarters of 1991, 3, 113 people were killed in road accidents and 222,995 were injured; and further notes that both local and national government have a role to play in reducing the number of accidents by introducing traffic calming measures, reducing speed limits from 30 mph to 20 mph in built up areas, requiring local authorities to carry out road safety audits and lowering the legal blood/alcohol limit for drivers to 50 mg per 100 ml.
