Quality Of Life In Old Age
EDM number 505 in 1991-92, proposed by Andrew Bowden on 20/01/1992.
That this House notes with concern the evidence of research conducted for Age Concern England in December 1991 that one in four people feel there is nothing to look forward to in old age; notes further that loss of independence is the major worry expressed about ageing; congratulates Age Concern on the important work it is doing to help older people retain their independence, and stay fit, active and in control of their lives; welcomes Age Concern's commitment to improving attitudes to ageing and the quality of life of older people; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to do all it can to support that work.
