Manchester Olympic Bid

EDM number 716 in 1990-91, proposed by Peter L Pike on 17/04/1991.

That this House welcomes the Manchester bid to host the Olympic Games in the year 2000; and believes that this bid, involving many parts of the North West as venues for those Games, forms the best basis to achieve the British nomination to host this major world sporting occasion and as such is good for Britain and the regions of this country and should therefore be fully supported.
