Nationalist Parties And The Poll Tax;amdt. Line 1:

EDM number 659A1 in 1990-91, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 27/03/1991.

leave out from 'note' to end and add 'the desperate discomfort of the Labour Party in the Neath by-election, where the principled stand made by Plaid Cymru candidate, Dr Dewi Evans, against the poll tax was not only in stark contrast to the feeble acquiescence of the Labour Party in implementing with alacrity the poll tax legislation, but also a real contribution to the popular campaign which succeeded in killing off the poll tax, something which Labour's parliamentary performance on this issue lamentably failed to acheive; congratulates Dr Evans on his stand; and believes that his election as Member of Parliament for Neath will achieve much more for Neath and Wales than the return of yet another Labour career politician to the House.'.

This is a ammendment to 659.
