Family Government Of Kuwait (No. 2)
EDM number 325 in 1990-91, proposed by George Galloway on 22/01/1991.
That this House notes that British forces are currently fighting, some perchance to die, for the restoration of the legitimate government of Kuwait; and notes that this legitimate government viz: the Amir Jaber As-Sabah, the Crown Prince Sa'ad As-Sabah, the Prime Minister Sa'ad As-Sabah, the Deputy Prime Minister Sa'bah As-Sabah, the Foreign Minister Sa'bah As-Sabah, the Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Khalid As-Sabah, Minister of Information Jaber As-Sabah, the Minister of the Interior Salim As-Sabah, Minister of Defence Nawaf As-Sabah, Minister of Oil Ali As-Sabah, Government of Ahmadi Province Ali Sabah As-Sabah, Governor of Jahra Province Ali Abdullah As-Sabah, Governor of Kuwait Province Jaber As-Sabah, Governor of Faranawiya Province Ahmad As-Sabah, are an unelected government who appear to be related; further notes that the Kuwaiti National Assembly, which had a limited franchise and even more limited powers, was suspended by the Amir's decree in 1986, and wonders if this war aim of restoration can be justified.
This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
