Doctors For Tobacco Law And Cigarette Advertising;amdt. Line 1:
EDM number 1096A2 in 1990-91, proposed by Tim Rathbone on 11/07/1991.
leave out from 'welcomes' to end and add 'support from any part of the medical profession for the Government's efforts to reduce smoking and the start of smoking, particularly among young people; endorses the Government's new rules for more prominent and sterner health warnings on all cigarette packages; doubts whether a total ban on advertising and promotion of cigarettes will have any positive effect on consumption, rather believes that lower tar less unhealthy cigarettes have only been introduced successfully in those countries where competition between brands has been allowed to flourish; urges the Government to do more to encourage better education for good health in schools and the workplace; and commends the Government's commitment to policies for better health, as demonstrated in the recent Green Paper.'.
This is a ammendment to 1096.
