Doctors For Tobacco Law And Cigarette Advertising

That this House welcomes the establishment of the new campaigning group, Doctors for Tobacco Law; supports its principal objective in seeking Her Majesty's Government's support for a European Council directive to ban tobacco advertising; recognises such to be essential if the recent Green Paper aim to cut the number of adults who smoke from 32 per cent. to 21 per cent. by the year 2000 is to be achieved; and calls upon the Secretary of State for Health to make a positive commitment on this as a matter of urgency.
