Successful Outcome Of Farm Council

EDM number 947 in 1989-90, proposed by John Greenway on 04/05/1990.

That this House congratulates the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and his Ministerial colleagues for the way in which they represented the interests of British agriculture at the recent meeting of the Council of Ministers; notes that as a result of their efforts British farm incomes are expected to rise by over ú500 million per year but at a cost of only 0.1 per cent. to the price of food consumers; and further notes that the outcome of these negotiations fully vindicates the pledges given by the Minister to farmers at the National Farmers Union annual meeting.

This motion has been ammended, see 1075A1 and 1075A2.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
