Compensation For HIV Sufferers

EDM number 737 in 1989-90, proposed by David Steel on 15/03/1990.

That this House notes with concern the recent decision by Her Majesty's Government not to extend compensation payments to HIV sufferers who contracted the disease as a result of contaminated blood being given to them during National Health Service operations; and calls therefore for such patients to be compensated as were haemophiliac sufferers who contracted HIV by way of infected blood transfusions.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
