That this House congratulates Councillor Tim Hill, the Liberal Democrat councillor for Brickhill ward of North Bedfordshire Borough Council, for his dedicated campaign to highlight the dangers and antisocial nature of straw and stubble burning; notes his campaign attracted over 250 letters of support; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to instigate immediate research into alternative uses for straw with a view to outlawing straw and stubble burning by 1991.
