Self-Determination Of Peoples Of Kashmir And Jammu

EDM number 651 in 1989-90, proposed by David Steel on 05/03/1990.

That this House affirms its belief that the right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir and Jammu is the paramount consideration in solving the present conflict there; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government therefore to press for the early implementation of United Nations resolution 261 which would result in a free and fair referendum to assess what future the peoples of these regions want for themselves.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
