Dyslexia Awareness Campaign
EDM number 453 in 1989-90, proposed by Alfred Morris on 06/02/1990.
That this House congratulates the British Dyslexia Association and its sponsors on the Dyslexia Awareness Campaign taking place in International Literacy Year; notes that one person in 25, or an average of one child in every classroom, has a specific learning difficulty in reading, writing and spelling; is concerned that only a small proportion of dyslexics have access to skilled assessment and tuition; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to take whatever measures may be necessary to enable all dyslexics to make the most of their educational opportunities and aptitudes.
