Death Penalty In China

EDM number 318 in 1989-90, proposed by Ronnie Fearn on 16/01/1990.

That this House notes with deep concern the existence and widespread use of the death penalty in China, as well as the large and increasing number of offences to which it applies; believes that capital punishment is an extreme, unjust and inhumane form of punishment; and urges Her Majesty's Government therefore to exert every possible pressure upon the Chinese Government to end such punishment in that country.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
