Hospital Car Parking For Patients With Brain Injury

EDM number 974 in 2017-19, proposed by Robert Halfon on 26/02/2018.
Categorised under the topics of Children and families, Diseases, Health services and Roads.

That this House notes that patients recovering from brain surgery often require long stays in hospital; recognises that this can be a particularly stressful situation when the patient is a young person or child; acknowledges that family members and friends are likely to want to visit the patient; is shocked to learn that the mother of a 16-year-old brain injury patient would have had to pay £175 a week to visit her son, had she not found other means; understands the financial burden and stress this presents for families; and urges the Government to abolish car parking charges at NHS hospitals in England.
