That this House notes the publication of Stonewall's LGBT in Britain: Trans Report and its findings on continued discrimination, violence and exclusion currently experienced by trans people in the UK; recognises the disproportionate volume of hate crimes because of gender identity, with two in five trans people, 41 per cent, and three in 10 non-binary people, 31 per cent, having experienced a hate crime or incident in the last 12 months; understands the need for greater understanding in healthcare for trans people, with two in five trans people, 41 per cent, responding that healthcare staff lacked understanding of specific trans health needs when accessing general healthcare services in the last year; is aware of the challenges in employment for trans people, with one in eight trans employees, 12 per cent, having been physically attacked by colleagues or customers in the last year; and calls on wider society, including policy makers, organisations, communities and individuals to come together as allies to trans people to address the huge inequalities they face.
