That this House welcomes the news that Channel 4 may relocate outside of London; acknowledges that this could provide a £88 million a year boost in spending on shows made outside of London and could create economic benefits of £580 million and 7,490 jobs across the country for the city that is chosen; acknowledges whilst that there are many suitable cities in the West Midlands, Coventry was chosen to be the City of Culture in 2021; notes that this provides a unique opportunity for Channel 4; and recommends that Channel 4 finds a welcome home there by relocating to Coventry which would strengthen the broadcasting industry in the West Midlands and means that Channel 4 would be able to benefit from the strong cultural hub already in Coventry.
