That this House congratulates Auchrannie resort on the Isle of Arran for becoming the first resort of its kind in Scotland to transfer to employee ownership; recognises the fantastic work done by the managing director and chair, Linda Johnston and her late husband lain, who purchased Auchrannie in 1988 and have since grown the business into two hotels, 30 self-catering lodges, three restaurants, two leisure clubs and an outdoor adventure centre; applauds the fact that an employee ownership trust has been established to run the business, and notes the trust holds 100 per cent of the shares of the company on behalf of the 160 members of staff; further congratulates the resort staff for taking an active role in ensuring Auchrannie's future success as a business; and commends all those involved in securing this agreement that will further contribute to the Isle of Arran's status as a leading tourist destination in Scotland.
