Royal Bank Of Scotland Renfrew Town Centre Closure
EDM number 680 in 2017-19, proposed by Gavin Newlands on 12/12/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Financial institutions and Financial services.
That this House criticises the decision of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to close its popular Renfrew town centre bank branch; notes the anger that this decision has caused among the people of Renfrew and the local businesses, particularly as this is a busy branch which has just undergone an expensive refurbishment; recognises that the RBS is still publicly-owned and should be delivering a high quality service for the general public, particularly for older and disabled people who may have difficulty accessing online banking; and urges Ross McEwan, Chief Executive of RBS to reverse the planned closure of the Renfrew branch, as well as taking action to prevent other bank branch closures across the UK.
