That this House notes the significance of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and endorses its assigning of equal status to teaching and research at the UK's higher education institutions; congratulates institutions that have been awarded a Gold status, including De Montfort University in Leicester, whose Square Mile project has been recognised for making a significant contribution to the social and economic development of its city; welcomes the TEF's provision of benchmarked and split metrics to students and parents that matter most to them, including teaching quality, student satisfaction and employment outcomes; and commends its Vice-Chancellor Dominic Shellard and its excellent teaching staff for the work that they do.
