That this House celebrates the accomplishments of the Royal National Mòd 2017 and congratulates the organisers, An Comunn Gaidhealachd, on the success of the 2017 Mòd Lochaber; recognises that this year was the 125th anniversary of the very first Mòd which was held in Oban; acknowledges the record entry of 3,600 competitors; further recognises BBC Alba's coverage of the event and promotion of the Gàidhlig language; calls on the Government to nominate traditional Scottish Gàidhlig singing to UNESCO for inclusion in the urgent need of safeguarding list; thanks the An Comunn Gaidhealachd staff and volunteers for their great efforts in running the event; notes that the event creates an economic benefit of between £2.5 and £3 million for the host area; and wishes the Mòd success in next year's event in Dunoon.
