Dundee 2023 European Capital Of Culture Bid

That this House notes that Dundee's bid proposal to become European Capital of Culture 2023 has been officially submitted; further notes that the bid document includes 110 new projects across the city which capture the true spirit of Scotland as a whole, and showcases the very best of Dundee and the tapestry of culture that exists, including art and design, creative industries, gaming, music and sport; notes that if Dundee is successful in its bid it is estimated that it would bring a £128 million boost to the city's economy and create 1,600 new job opportunities; notes that as the first UNESCO City of Design in the UK and home to a world class Victoria and Albert Museum, Dundee is helping to promote Scotland's culture and design tradition worldwide and strengthening its reputation as an international hub of creative excellence; and congratulates everyone who worked so hard on Dundee's European Capital of Culture 2023 bid and encourages everyone to get behind the bid.
