That this House celebrates 50 years of Hillcrest Housing in Dundee; notes that from just a handful of tenement flats on Dundee's Blackness Road, Hillcrest Housing Association has grown to become one of Scotland's largest providers of affordable housing with a portfolio of over 6,000 houses, with over 2,500 of these homes delivered to the people of Dundee, including families, single people, the elderly, the vulnerable and the homeless in Angus, Perth, Fife and Edinburgh; further notes that in 1984, Hillcrest delivered what was then the largest single urban redevelopment project in Europe, the redevelopment of a mill at Upper Dens injected hundreds of affordable homes into Dundee; notes that united by the common goal of improving communities and lives across Dundee, Tayside and throughout Scotland, the Hillcrest Group of Companies work together to provide affordable housing, employment projects, in-house maintenance services and community care, training and support services; and commends it for raising £50,000 at its 50th anniversary celebrations for two worthwhile charities, Dundee Bairns and Move On.
