Crisis Grants In Scotland
EDM number 503 in 2017-19, proposed by Christine Jardine on 06/11/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Benefits policy and Incomes and poverty.
That this House notes with regret that the number of crisis grants applied for in Scotland has increased by 11 per cent and that 14 per cent of applications were made due to delays in benefit payment; further notes that most applications were made to purchase food or pay for heating; condemns systemic failures that have pushed families into crisis and children into poverty; and urges action to build a country for everyone.
