EDM number 452 in 2017-19, proposed by Marie Rimmer on 25/10/2017.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House welcomes the forthcoming Rugby League World Cup in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea; looks forward to the men's competition which kicks off on 27 October 2017 and the women's competition which commences on 16 November 2017; wishes all involved with the England, Scotland and Wales men's squads and the England women's squad well for their respective competitions; notes that this is the first time that the men's and women's competitions have run side-by-side; hopes that we will see home nations represented in the Rugby League World Cup final double-header in Brisbane on 2 December 2017; further hopes that the home nations will be successful and build on the success of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup in the UK to inspire young people from across the country to get involved with rugby league; and looks forward to a fantastic spectacle of international sport.
