That this House notes that the tourism and hospitality industry employs 32,805 people in Cumbria and 14,826 in Westmorland and Lonsdale; recognises that the sector is worth over £1 billion in South Lakeland alone; regrets fears of representatives of that sector regarding the potential loss of its workforce when the UK leaves the EU; welcomes the introduction of T-levels in 2019 to simplify the process of vocational training for domestic workers in the UK but expresses concern that the roll out of the Hospitality and Tourism T-level will be delayed until 2022; and urges the Government to bring forward the introduction of the Hospitality and Tourism T-level to 2019 to ensure that there is no workforce deficit after the UK leaves the EU which could have a catastrophic on the local economy.
