That this House congratulates Luminate on staging its sixth national arts festival, taking place across Scotland throughout the month of October; recognises the important role played by Luminate in providing creative opportunities for older people across Scotland to participate in the arts and display the immense contribution our older citizen's make to the social and cultural wellbeing of Scotland; commends the Luminate Festival for bringing together older people and those from across the generations to celebrate creativity, share stories of ageing and explore what growing older means to all of us; notes that this year's programme contains a wide and varied programme of events will take place in theatres, galleries, community halls, care homes, libraries and lunch clubs from the borders to the highlands and will include performance art, workshops, film screenings, dance classes, craft, musical performance, poetry reading and authors' events and will celebrate new stories of growing up and growing old from both Scottish and international directors; and acknowledges the support given to the Luminate Festival by the Scottish Government through Creative Scotland and Digital Scotland.
