Shettleston Community Growing Project

EDM number 399 in 2017-19, proposed by David Linden on 12/10/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Agriculture, Food and Leisure.

That this House commends Shettleston Community Growing Project in Glasgow's East-end on being named Cultivation Street Community Garden National Winner 2017; notes that the project fought off competition from other community gardens across the UK to be awarded this title; congratulates the project on receiving the top prize of £10,000 in National Garden Gift Vouchers; recognises that the Shettleston Community Growing Project was set up in 2009 by local people who wished to grow food for themselves and their families, and has transformed derelict and unloved space into an attractive and productive community allotment and orchard; thanks television gardener David Domoney for recognising the incredible work and dedication of the Shettleston Growers; and wishes the project every success in the future.
