Falkirk Family Support Community Interest Company
EDM number 367 in 2017-19, proposed by Martyn Day on 11/10/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Children and families and Community care.
That this House congratulates Falkirk Family Support Community Interest Company on securing a Big Lottery Award to support its excellent work in offering free and independent advice, guidance and support to Falkirk District's most vulnerable children, young people and families, including those supporting older relatives at the time when they identify support is needed; notes that individuals and families can self-refer, enabling support at an early intervention stage and preventing their situation deteriorating; further notes its work in empowering individuals and families to find solutions to their own unique circumstances, thus reducing the need for the intervention of statutory services; recognises the value of work done by volunteers and family support workers to provide easily accessible support, meeting children, families and older people in their homes and local communities at a place and time that is convenient to them; and wishes them continued success with their vital work in the future.
