That this House notes that Kidsgrove Sports Centre is facing imminent closure due to the decision by Staffordshire County Council abruptly to cut financial support for the facility; further notes that Staffordshire County Council currently owns the land that the centre is built on; recognises the importance and popularity of the services provided at the leisure centre; and calls on Staffordshire County Council to provide the land to Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council free of charge so that new facilities can be developed and for both councils to work to ensure that services are maintained in the interim.
