The Happy Club Lottery Grant
EDM number 275 in 2017-19, proposed by David Linden on 06/09/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Children and families, Community care and Voluntary organisations.
That this House congratulates The Healthy Active Promotion of Positive Youngsters (The Happy Club) in Glasgow East on its grant of £49,770 from the Big Lottery Fund's Young Start programme; notes that The Happy Club is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers which was established in April 2007 to reduce the isolation of families in Glasgow who have one or more children affected by disability or autism and enable the families to have happy, healthier, more fulfilling lifestyles; acknowledges that the two-year grant will enable the club to fund overheads and to devise a programme of sports, healthy eating, cooking and personal care activities and sessions to the benefit of around 150 young people with disabilities and/or autism; and wishes the club, volunteers and families all the best for the future.
