That this House recognises the exemplary work of the Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust in promoting the history and heritage of the community and welcomes its recent call for community involvement in developing a new heritage project and museum based within the halls; commends its partnership working and community-centred approach in reaching out to the area's charities, community groups, history groups, clubs and societies to contribute displays and stories; believes that such a project will contribute to safeguarding and celebrating Maryhill's rich history and heritage; applauds the Trust's approach in making community history and heritage accessible to all; acknowledges that the project will also provide a place for volunteers, known as ambassadors, to engage with exciting ideas, develop new skills and build confidence; wishes the emerging Maryhill Museum and associated community initiatives every success; and encourages all members of the community, both young and old and whether recent or longstanding, to take advantage of this opportunity.
