London Fisheries Convention

EDM number 180 in 2017-19, proposed by Ben Lake on 12/07/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Fisheries and National Assembly for Wales.

That this House condemns the process by which the Government is withdrawing from the London Fisheries Convention; highlights the lack of consultation with the National Assembly for Wales before announcing that decision; notes that fisheries fall under the devolved competence of the National Assembly for Wales and this process therefore contradicts the Wales Act 2017; and calls on the Government to uphold and respect the devolved administrations as it proceeds with leaving the EU, and to ensure that the devolved administrations have the power to endorse or reject any decisions which fall under devolved competencies.
