Cadbury's Dairy Milk Low-Sugar Version

EDM number 1554 in 2017-19, proposed by Keith Vaz on 24/07/2018.
Categorised under the topic of Obesity.

That this House applauds the action taken by Mondelez, which owns Cadbury, for its commitment to tackle childhood obesity in the UK by introducing a new Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar in 2019 which will contain 30 per cent less sugar; commends the company for already introducing a 250 calorie cap on all small chocolate bars; notes that these measures constitute vital progress towards Public Health England challenging the food industry to reduce sugar levels by a fifth by 2020, or reduce the size of unhealthy products; and calls on the Government to ensure that manufacturers go further to reformulate their entire product range.
