Scotland Achieves 100 Percent Unicef Baby Friendly Accreditation

That this House warmly congratulates Scotland on becoming the first nation in the UK to achieve 100 per cent Unicef baby friendly accreditation in both maternity and community services; appreciates the efforts of public health and healthcare staff in achieving the accreditation; thanks National Maternal and Infant Nutrition coordinator Linda Wolfson and Minister for Public Health and Sport Aileen Campbell MSP for their commitment to protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding; welcomes the increase in babies receiving breast milk at six months from 32 per cent in 2010 to 43 per cent in 2017; notes that this week is Breastfeeding Awareness Week in Scotland; and hopes all parts of the UK will follow Scotland's excellent example.
