Contribution Of Ceredigion To Refugee Day 20 June 2018

That this House recognises 20 June 2018 as World Refugee Day; welcomes all refugees that have settled in Ceredigion; further recognises the brilliant work of the people of Ceredigion in welcoming refugees to the county; supports the work of Ceredigion County Council in leading the way in supporting refugees through the work of the Refugee Resettlement Group; celebrates the work of Croeso Teifi and Aberaid in resettling families of five in Aberteifi and Aberystwyth; notes the success of refugee resettlement programmes in Wales which as of 2017 had found homes for 722 people; further notes the importance of taking in refugees as part of the UK's role on the international stage; and calls on the UK and Welsh Governments to fulfil their international obligations to resettle more refugees in the UK and to provide adequate support for councils and community organisations to support refugees in Wales and across the UK.
