International Day Of Yoga

EDM number 1367 in 2017-19, proposed by Bob Blackman on 11/06/2018.
Categorised under the topics of Health education and preventive medicine and Leisure.

That this House recognises the fourth International Day of Yoga on 21 June 2018, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015; further recognises Indian Traditional Sciences, the aim of which is prevention of disease through truly conscious healthy living; notes that the ultimate goals of yoga is to unify individual consciousness with universal awareness, achieving a state of peace, good health and fulfillment; further notes that both yoga and jyotish have profound implications for health care; and believes that this needs greatly increased emphasis in the NHS.
