That this House congratulates Renfrewshire Council and the Paisley 2021 campaign for winning the Arts, Culture and Sport Award at the 2018 Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards Ceremony on 6 June 2018;·notes that this ceremony celebrates shining examples of public relations excellence as a means of demonstrating best practice; understands that Renfrewshire Council achieved this prestigious award due to its inspiring Paisley 2021 campaign which made a significant difference in how people viewed the town of Paisley; recognises that the Paisley 2021 campaign was a highly-integrated campaign which used traditional and digital media, engaging both local people and celebrity influencers; appreciates that despite ultimately not winning the City of Culture bid, the clarity around long-term objectives has created a powerful legacy for the community and the role of public relations as a strategic function within Renfrewshire County; and congratulates the team behind Paisley 2021 for their success.
