That this House notes the comments of the Chief Constable of Durham Constabulary on the Today programme on 16 May 2018 concerning the levels of violence associated with illegal drugs markets; further notes the increasing proportion of murders linked to the illegal sale or use of drugs; recognises the enormous global death toll, including the loss of life of so many young people; further recognises that the so-called War on Drugs has been a catastrophic failure; calls on the Government to undertake a fundamental review of drug policy; and urges the Government to legalise and regulate the sale of cannabis.
