New Hospital In Harlow And Sub-Optimal Clinical Adjacencies
EDM number 1212 in 2017-19, proposed by Robert Halfon on 26/04/2018.
Categorised under the topic of Health services.
That this House is concerned by the uncoordinated and problematic lay-out of Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow; notes the confirmation of the hospital's sub-optimal clinical adjacencies by the Minister of State at the Department of Health on 18 October 2017; understands that urgent care is spread across the site due to the sporadic development of temporary structures since the hospital's completion in 1966; is aware that these temporary structures have now surpassed their 10 to 15 year life-span; further notes that the spread of urgent care across the site is problematic for patients seeking care and for staff caring for ill patients; realises that the development of a new, purpose-built health campus, bringing together all healthcare services that Harlow and the surrounding area needs, would solve the above problems; and urges the Government to make capital funding available for a new health campus in Harlow.
