That this House welcomes the announcement in the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2018 of a CBE for the Principal and CEO of Gateshead College, Judith Doyle, in recognition of services to education and skills in the North East; notes that this follows her award as FE Leader of the Year in 2016, an acknowledgement of the high esteem in which she is held within the sector and the wider North East business and professional community; and congratulates Gateshead College on its longstanding commitment to working closely with employers in the region to develop a curriculum which provides highly qualified candidates with skills and attributes that are highly prized by employers.
