Relocation Of Government Departments
EDM number 10 in 2017-19, proposed by John Mann on 21/06/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Central government and Employment.
That this House believes that the economic playing field is weighted heavily in favour of London and the South East; further believes that relocating Government Departments around the UK would start to address this imbalance; notes that doing so would bring jobs to areas that sorely need them and provide the Government with a more rounded perspective when creating policies; and calls on the Government to relocate Departments to Bristol, Sheffield, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Leeds and Liverpool.
This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
