Shettleston And Parkhead Tesco Foodbank Collection

That this House congratulates the Tesco stores at Shettleston and Parkhead in Glasgow East, and the Glasgow foodbanks, on being ranked first and second respectively in their group for their efforts in collecting foodbank donations; notes that Shettleston collected 11,000 meals and Parkhead collected 8,200 meals in their recent #EveryCanHelps campaign; further notes that in many cases it is in the areas where people have the least who give the most to people who have even less; commends the local staff and volunteers for their hard work and kindness; and deplores the need for emergency food aid provision in a modern, rich and developed country.
