That this House congratulates the Assynt Leisure Centre on its recent award of £82,494 from the Big Lottery Fund; recognises that the Centre, which is run by the community, provides a range of facilities for the use of people of all ages and abilities, including a games hall, fitness suite and learning centre with internet access; further recognises that the Centre facilitates an array of community clubs, groups and classes that includes the local badminton club, junior football coaching and the Assynt indoor bowls club; notes that the funding will be used for the continued running of a series of family and intergenerational activities which provides the community with opportunities to learn and develop new skills; further notes that the Centre will host a variety of workshops, taster events, exhibitions and community events; and further congratulates all staff and volunteers at Assynt Leisure for their hard work and effort in developing and maintaining a very successful hub focussed on community needs.
