Northern Road Networks

EDM number 610 in 2016-17, proposed by Graham Jones on 26/10/2016.
Categorised under the topic of Roads.

That this House is concerned by the disparity between transport infrastructure in the South and North of England; notes the lack of connectivity between the North West and North East; acknowledges Transport for the North’s Spring 2016 Report entitled, The Northern Transport Strategy which recognised that the number, capacity, and reliability of east-west road connections are seen as a constraint on the Northern economy; is committed to ensuring the Government’s Northern Powerhouse project leads to tangible improvements in transport infrastructure; and calls for the Government to fully examine the merits of extending road networks which could connect the North East and North West, including the possibility of carrying out an expansion of the M65.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
