That this House congratulates the volunteers at Maud Railway Museum, located at the former Maud Junction Station, Aberdeenshire on the opening of the latest addition to the museum, a beautifully restored carriage formally used to transport convicts from Peterhead Prison to Stirlinghill Quarry; commends the Heritage Lottery Fund and local donors for backing this important project to secure local history; recognises that many local heritage attractions rely entirely on the goodwill of volunteers to secure, maintain and promote them; and further commends them for their vital role in preserving our history.
