That this House congratulates The Embo Trust (Urras Euraboil) on its recent funding award of £999,999 from the Big Lottery Fund Scotland; notes that the Big Lottery Funding focusses on helping people and communities most in need throughout Scotland; further notes that the funding will be used to refurbish the Embo Old School to create a village hub which will contain a convenience store, Post Office and franchised café which will have an area for community activities as well as offering office services to support social enterprises; recognises that the project will create employment and volunteering opportunities for people in the local community; further recognises that the project will also focus on addressing the issue of social isolation among older local residents as well as providing services that will allow them to live in their own homes in the local area longer; and commends everyone at the Trust for their dedication and hard work in securing funding for this fantastic community development.
