That this House congratulates Caithness KLICS on its recent funding award of £126,661 through the Big Lottery Fund Scotland; recognises that KLICS provides support and encouragement to young people to help them develop their confidence and understand their potential, and aims to maximise opportunities for them; notes that the funding will help to develop and continue the fantastic work of Caithness KLICS which supports young carers aged five to 18 by offering one-to-one counselling and respite breaks, and providing support and advice in school as well as access to information services; further recognises that the group focusses on helping young carers to overcome barriers they face every day due to their caring responsibilities; commends all the staff at Caithness KLICS for their dedication and efforts in delivering this project to local young carers through training and drop-in sessions, activity programmes and workshops which will benefit up to 50 young carers in the Thurso and Wick areas; and wishes them every success in their work.
