That this House congratulates the work of the Govan Law Centre in providing debt advice services to thousands of Glasgow's and Scotland's citizens; notes newly-published figures by Glasgow's Financial Inclusion Partnership that in the financial year 2015-16, the Govan Law Centre manged almost £5.5 million of housing debt for its clients, and that this work has prevented many citizens from being made homeless; further notes the Govan Law Centre's work in its prevention of homelessness project, Rights Hubs and its variety of other services, including a national Education Law Unit, which includes specialist Scotland-wide services for children and young people with additional support needs, partnership working with the Ayrshire Homelessness and Prevention Service, a partnership project with Children 1st and its Public Interest Litigation Unit, and specialist services at the Govanhill Law Centre; and praises the work of the Govan Law Centre and the assistance it provides to the most vulnerable and the poorest in society.
