South Korean Dog Meat Trade
EDM number 437 in 2016-17, proposed by Alan Meale on 12/09/2016.
Categorised under the topics of Animal welfare, Animals and Asia.
That this House is appalled that in South Korea, the venue for the 2018 Winter Olympics, millions of dogs a year are farmed for human consumption, during which time they are kept in appalling conditions in tiny, barren wire cages and exposed to extreme temperatures before being cruelly killed by electrocution for the food market; and calls on the Government to condemn such practices and work to help end this vile trade which has no place in any civilised society.
This motion has been signed by a total of 29 MPs.
