That this House congratulates WEvolution's recognition as one of Nesta's 2016 New Radicals; notes that it brings people together in its Self-Reliant Groups (SRGs) which are the first of their kind in the UK; further notes that these groups exist across Scotland notably Women @ Work based at St Paul's Church in Provanmill, Glasgow; applauds its innovative use of a south-north model taking learning from India to Scotland; promotes a way of working alongside communities that is based on trust, self-governance and collective endeavour towards entrepreneurship; commends it as a movement of people from disadvantaged backgrounds and their aspirations for a better life for themselves, their families and communities; and recommends that its model is adopted elsewhere throughout the UK to address inequality and empower communities.
This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
